Renewing Our Church For Worship and Hospitality
Time for Renewal -Moving Forward, Honoring Tradition
Our current sanctuary and gathering spaces have undergone substantial renovation to make a church that is inviting to everyone- visitors, our Pastors, our music ministers, all members and our community. We have significantly improved handicap accessibility, our aging sound system, energy efficiency, air handling and heating, lighting, color and seating. Our space for worship is much more intimate to gather all closer around Word and sacrament and be flexible enough to support a much wider variety of worship styles and services. A church which gathers us nearer to the Word and Sacrament brings us closer to God.

First Lutheran Church Phase II Construction
The Time for Renewal Taskforce has been working with Steve Edwins, AIA of SMSQ Architects in Northfield, MN and Dan Jaeckel of Jaeckel Organ Co., Inc in Duluth to renew our worship space and build a handcrafted pipe organ. Steve Edwins has vast experience with more than 300 church building and remodeling projects and Dan Jaeckel is internationally recognized as an outstanding organ builder.
Many efforts were made during the construction process to pay attention to ecological issues and energy conservation.
