Ministries

Youth & Family

First Lutheran Church is a vibrant congregation where faith is experienced and formed in our children and youth through the Holy Spirit by adults teaching and living a contagious faith.   Through adults and the congregation keeping the promises made at Holy Baptism, our children and youth will trust God, proclaim Christ through word and deed, care for others and the world God made, and work for justice and peace.

Music Ministry

In and through music we recognize and respond to our creator.  Martin Luther declared music a gift of God: “From the beginning of the world it has been instilled and implanted in all creates individually and collectively.  For nothing is without sound and harmony … Let this noble wholesome, and cheerful creation of God be commended to you … by this creation accustom yourself to recognize and praise the creation.”  –From Principles for Worship, ELCA published by Augsburg Fortress Publications 2002

Stewardship Ministry

Stewardship is … Everything we do after we say “I believe,” making a faithful response to God’s grace, gratitude and generosity about money, but not only about money, but helping others grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through the use of the time, talents and resources entrusted by God.  -ELCA on Stewardship

Women’s Ministry

As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, We commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.  All women who are members of First Lutheran Church are members of First Lutheran Church Women (FLCW). Some members have not explored or experienced the blessings of fellowship in the group or its small groups. We invite and welcome your participation.

Peace & Justice

Join the members of First Lutheran in educating, identifying and responding to critical local, state, national and global peace and justice issues. Consider volunteer and educational opportunities to become more involved in these efforts.

Caring Ministries

Caring Ministries continually seeks new approaches for caring for others, as Jesus did.

Adult Ministries

Bible study and men and women discipleship group foster deepening faith.

Global Ministries

First Lutheran Global Ministries encourages members to be global-minded in their faith in Christ through sharing the Gospel with our neighbors beyond our country’s borders and serving others for the well being of all humankind.  Listen to the call of the Holy Spirit to take advantage of international faith experiences which deepen faith, encourage mutual understanding, and enable us to be “one in Christ.”
