Becoming a Love and Logic Parent

Rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. – Proverbs 12:18

First Lutheran Church is committed to fostering an environment that supports parents in raising children with a Christian foundation.  The Love and Logic Workshop helps parents with children of all ages to grow in a healthy way, provides them with confidence and dignity, and teaches them how to become more responsible.  Your children will win because they’ll learn to solve their own problems while gaining the confidence they’ll need to meet life’s challenges.  And you’ll establish healthy control—without resorting to anger, threats, nagging, or exhausting power struggles.  We strive to support parents in their journey and form a place for fellowship within the First Lutheran Church and Duluth parenting community.  In addition to a 4-week workshop series, we are also reaching out to MOPS, Promise Preschool, Lutheran Social Service and FLC Adult Sunday School through “mini sessions”.

What is “Love and Logic” Parenting?

The Love and Logic philosophy was founded by Jim Fay and Foster Cline, all based on their experience of a combined total of 75 years workings with and raising kids.  The Love and Logic Institute was founded in 1977 and has since been used in churches, schools and communities with great success.  Love and Logic isn’t just a philosophy; these techniques are simple, practical, and easy to learn. Learn more about Love and Logic Parenting …
