- “On August 10, 2011, the new FLC gathering space was the site of an elegant congregational celebration for the TFR Challenge to Complete campaign, an event which highlighted the beauty and versatility of this space. It truly “builds a sense of community and facilitates hospitality” in addition to being a “transition between the church and the world”…But what about the level below the site of this celebration? On March 17, 2009, the TFR taskforce unanimously voted to approve creating a level below the gathering space to be “shelled in” for future use. The need for additional educational space has long been recognized. This addition is ideally located to provide space for Promise Preschool during the week, and Sunday School on weekends…. programs which serve important entry portals to the community of faith at First Lutheran. Congratulations to the Board of Education on taking the initiative in claiming and developing this space!”
