Community Meal
Since the fall of 2022 we have been offering a community meal the last Sunday of the month following our second service. Signs are put out around the Hillside neighborhood inviting people to come to this free meal. People come for food but more than that they come for company. One woman said, “There are other places we can go to get food, but we have the best conversations here.”
WHEN? The Community Meal happens on the last Sunday of every month from 12:00-1:30
WHY? FLC stands for First Lutheran Church but it also spells out our mission! FLC stands for Faith-Love-Community. Our mission is Growing in Faith, Spreading God’s Love, and Gathering in Community.
Serving the Community Meal helps us to demonstrate our mission to offer food and fellowship to people in our neighborhood.
HOW? The Community Meal can only happen with lots of hands to make the work light! Every month, we need volunteers for:

- Sign Posting (1)
- Saturday Food Prep (3)
- Sunday Food Prep (3)
- Set up Team (3)
- Serving & Hospitality (4)
- Greeting & Conversation (4)
- Cleanup (3)
