Devotion
by Associate Pastor Joshua Blair

Hello! It is great to be here at FLC Duluth and to be settling in. I am look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you very soon.
Over the past few weeks I have had a bit of a break in which I have been able to visit with family and friends, explore Duluth, enjoy the gorgeous views of Lake Superior, and to spend time in thought and prayer as I enter this new call.
One of the things that I have been reminded of these last few weeks, is the connection that I have to the Bible Character Joshua. I have always been felt a connection to Joshua, not just because we share the same name, but because Joshua was an awesome leader. In High School, I clung to the Bible verse Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” This is something that I remember still today, as I start on this new chapter in my life and of what God is up to in, through, and around me. What is God reminding you this week?
To read more about what I am thinking, make sure to check out First News next Wednesday!

God, we give you thanks for allowing us to be your people. We give you thanks for all of the little reminders of how you call us to be strong and courageous and how you remind us that you are with us always. Help us to live this week in strength and courage in all that we do. Amen.
